Linda
Dabeau has been awarded both national and international
commissions in sculpture and liturgical designs.
She works in multiple mediums such as bronze,
stone, fired clay, cast metals, glass and wood.
She creates one of a kind sculptures as well as
having limited editions. Her sculptures range
from 24 inches to life size and monumental.
Her spiritually inspired sculptures skillfully
incorporate her own appreciation for liturgy,
experience based knowledge of materials and techniques,
and the spiritual needs and beliefs of the community
through a down-to-earth dialogue with church leadership,
congregation members and the architect.
Her innate desire to create works that remain
approachable and maintain heartfelt connections
with church members allows her to adjust her personal
creative expression to fill the requirements of
each commission.
Her sensitivity to the needs of the community
grew out of her personal experiences and her natural
compassion for others. Dabeau melds her personality,
aesthetic sensibilities and artistic skills into
expressively powerful sculptures that gracefully
reflect and communicate spirituality. Her means
and her cognition of community values have made
Dabeau the successful choice of both church leaders
and architects on numerous wonderfully executed
and popularly received commissions.
A keen observer of nature, Dabeau is able to capture
the wind and render flowing water within the billowing
robes of her standing figures. Her erudition in
the areas of human anatomy and portraiture allow
Dabeau to symbolically breathe life into images
of the Holy Virgin and the Christ Child.
Through her highly disciplined
work, Dabeau acts as a catalyst that creates a
bond within the whole community. Her materials
are selected and utilized to create the best possible
and most unique total visage of spirituality within
physical form.
